Member Benefits: Working Today Freelancer Union

Working Today's Freelancers Union brings independent workers — consultants, freelancers, temps, part-timers and the self-employed — together for access to basic benefits and protections while presenting a unified message to policymakers on the state of the independent workforce.

Freelancers Union offers a choice of three comprehensive group-rate health insurance plans through HIP Health Plan of New York. The plans include coverage for doctor and specialist visits, prescription drugs and preventative dental care. Additionally, Freelancers Union Premium Members can access dental, life and disability insurance through Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, discounts on a range of services (including YMCA membership and office supplies from Staples) as well as opportunities to participate in advocacy campaigns for independent workers.

Freelancers Union will also waive the $25 application fee for ASMP members.
